The field of activity for environmental verifiers in accordance with the Environmental Audit Act has expanded significantly over the past few years. In addition to the now classical verifications and accreditations of environmental management systems (DIN EN ISO 14001) or validations (EMAS), tasks in the field of energy and climate protection have now also been delegated to environmental verifiers. These include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Certification reports in respect of installations for generating electricity from biomass (e.g. biogas plants or combined heat and power plants) in accordance with the Renewable Energies Act (REA)
• Certification reports in respect of energy management in electricity-intensive companies
• Verifications in greenhouse gas emissions trading

BfU has been accredited in accordance with the Environmental Audit Act for many years and provides environmental verifier services in accordance with the respective industry-related requirements (NACE codes) for various task areas.
